They continue to do their best to survive and have constant mental health struggles as trauma continues to impact their everyday life. Bassem has recently lost his uncle who raised him as a father would which has left Bassem with such a heavy heart. The struggle to survive daily increases every minute!
Hear directly from the family:
Hi, my name is Bassem, and I am a victim simply because I am Palestinian. I’ve lived through seven wars, but this one—it feels like the end. This is genocide. They have stolen everything from me—my freedom, my breath, my voice. They’ve taken my friends, my family, my food, my water. They’ve taken my right to exist, simply because I am Palestinian. I can’t describe the pain of watching everything I love disappear, while the world turns away. I’m reaching out to you, not just for me, but for all of us trapped in Gaza. Every day, the air grows thicker with smoke and death, and the walls around us close in tighter. I need you to stand with me, to help me fight for my life. Please, join my campaign. Speak up for us, because we are being silenced. We are being erased. The situation here gets worse by the hour, and I don’t know how much longer we have. I’m sending you this message because you are my last hope to escape this nightmare. Please, don’t turn away.
My brother gave his life in the war — not just for a uniform, not just for a flag, but for the people he loved and tried to protect. He was shot in the head. My brother was killed while trying to get aid for our family at Nezarim corridor– the death trap . He only wanted to bring us food — and he never made it back.
He died with courage in his heart and honor in his blood. A true martyr. A hero. My brother. While the world moves on, I’m left behind carrying his memory… and struggling to carry myself.Today, I’m reaching out with a heavy heart — asking for your help.
Your support — whether through donations, sharing this, or offering any form of kindness — would mean everything right now.
It’s hard to ask, but I need it. And I know he would want me to survive, to keep going, to find hope even in the darkest hour.
